Saint Vlas

Saint Vlas (Sveti Vlas) is a real surprise for anyone who has not visited it for more than 2 years. It is one of the newest and modern, fast developing Bulgarian towns.
 

Until the beginning of the 21st century, Sveti Vlas was a small village. Its location, between the final steep hills of Stara Planina (Balkan Mountains) and the sea, makes the town looks like Veliko Tarnovo. Saint Vlas faces entirely South - one of the sunniest places in Bulgaria.

Saint Vlas starts immediately after Sunny Beach following the seaside road. We would say that the border is more than symbolic. It extends to the sea and crawls elegantly up and down the slope, stretching forward. The eye raches the sea from almost every point of the town. then goes over the bay to the lonely windmill on the isthmus between the New and the Old Nessebar.

Just few years ago, tourists and locals accepted Saint Vlas as a small stopover between Sunny Beach and Elenite resort village. The place has been fmous ad one of the best SPA destinations in Bulgaria. The Sanatorium for lung diseases sheltered and returned hundreds of sick children to normal daily life.
 

In the early 90's Saint Vlas began to change rapidly. The initiative of its inhabitants has been activated. Small family hotels and the first holiday apartment complexes appeared. Bulgarians who bought holiday homes here are happy today. This purchase has become a real investment.
 

The development of the infrastructure and the comfortable transport connections have changed the profile of Saint Vlas. Many property owners have settled in this wonderful place permanently while practicing their profession in Burgas, Nessebar or Pomorie.
 

From the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, Sveti Vlas acquired the status of a town.
