The historical museum is situated in Malko Turnovo- a cultural center of the municipality. It was created in 1983. According to historic professionals, the found artefacts on these lands prove that there was a village on these lands from deep antiquity. On the territory of Malko Turnovo were found unique archeological monuments, related to the Thracian and Roman culture.
This historical museum keeps some of the finest legacy from the antiquity. The exhibitions take place in three typical Strandzha houses from the end of the 19th century. There are six exhibitions. In the first one visitors can see archaeological monuments, discovered in recent decades. The others contain epigraphic monuments, icon paintings and a special section for the Uprising of August 1903. There are also authentic objects and clothes from the area. In “The Dark Room” you can experience the Strandzha forest and nature at night.
