
The international maritime forum "The Blue Future - Our Responsibility" gathers proven experts in Burgas. The forum will be held on the Sailor's Day - June 25 at the International Congress Center - Public Access Zone of Burgas Port. The time of the event is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
More than 15 domestic and foreign experts will join the meeting with reports, presentations and lectures. The discussions will take place in three panels: "The maritime industry - guarantor of a working economy"; "Blue entrepreneurship - research and innovation" and "Maritime business in the Black Sea region". Leaders of the discussions in the panels will be - Yavor Velchev, founder of the company "Shippossible", k.d.p. Ivaylo Paskov, regional representative and coordinator for Southern Bulgaria and the Burgas region in the Bulgarian Association of Sea Captains (BAMK) and c.d.p. Georgi Sabev, manager of the South Bulgarian Maritime Education Center - Burgas.
The honor of being the opening speaker of the forum fell to K.D.P. Ivan Tsonev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Sea Captains. He will talk about the contribution of seafaring over the years since the establishment of the association.

Dr. Nikola Todorov from the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov"; Dr. Deyan Dimitrov, lawyer - expert in international maritime law; k.d.p. Alexander Alexandrov, Maritime Goodwill Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization (IMO); Hristina Zhabova, director of PGMKR "St. Nicholas" - Burgas; Adv. Dimitar Valchev from "Advocates Burgas", nominated for "Person of the Year 2020"; Milen Dimitrov, Chairman of the Board of the Association "Black Sea Institute" and representative of SNC "Glarus", and Stoycho Dimov, head of the "Marketing, SMC and Eurointegration" unit at "Pristanishte Burgas" EAD.
The topics they will comment on touch on various aspects of the blue economy. The lecturers will give answers about Bulgaria's place in the Black Sea, after the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and Euro-Atlantic realities in the 21st century, about what are the innovations in the protection of the surrounding country and the development of shipping in this direction. Issues related to cooperation for blue growth in cross-border regions of the Black Sea, the maritime qualification of young people, as a guarantor for the future development of the blue industry, will be discussed. The lecturers will also dwell on the significant achievements of Bulgarian sailors around the world, but topics such as the case of the ship "St. Nikolay" and the challenges facing marine insurance. Data will be presented on projects that are implemented with European funding, as well as what are the challenges in the cruise and passenger business in the Black Sea region.
Foreign speakers will participate in the International Maritime Forum online.
Peter Sand, Chief Commercial Shipping Analyst at the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMKO) will speak on the topic: "Seafarers deserve support and ships help the world grow."
Ian Short, Director of the London Office of CJC Law Firm (CJC) will be on: "A Story of Life and Death - Exploring London Arbitration"
John Dolan, Deputy Director of Loss Prevention at the Standard P&I Club will be speaking on "Seafarers Driving Standards"
The General Director of Digital Infrastructure at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Farid Safarov, will comment: "Digital transformation of Ukrainian transport - prospects for development".
Emilia Papachristou, General Secretary of the "Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports" (MedCruise) will join the forum participants with a welcome. "Pristanishte Burgas" EAD is the first Bulgarian port that was elected as a full member of the association in 2015.
Invitations to participate in the forum have been sent to nearly 100 companies and institutions related to maritime business.
